OTTAWA — The Ottawa school board approved a deal Monday night that will allow retiring Eisenhower school principal Nancy Johnson to come back as a part-time principal next year. Assistant school superintendent Brian Kraus said Johnson will retire a month earlier. Because of state retirement rules, the early retirement was necessary to allow her to return for enrollment and activities at the first of the school year, he said. Having Johnson go to part-time is one of several cuts the school board had to make to meet to handle sharp cuts in state school funding.
