OTTAWA — Ottawa police said this morning’s house fire in the 700 block of
South Cypress Street could be result of a burglary. The house’s owner, Shannon Nichols, told police someone entered his residence and stole items. During the investigation of the burglary, the house caught on fire, Police said the case is under investigation.
Assistant fire chief Richard Oglesby said the Kansas Fire Marshal has been asked to help with the investigation.
