LAWRENCE — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department will conduct saturation traffic patrols late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Deputies will monitor how well motorists follow all Kansas traffic laws. They’ll especially watch for impaired driving, speeding, seat belt and child restraint use. The extra patrol is part of the Impaired Driving Deterrence Program, which is a partnership of the Douglas County Sheriff’s office and the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office.
