OTTAWA — Today – April 15th – is the tax filing deadline. If you’re one of those people who still mailS your income tax return, you probably won’t have to face long lines this tax-deadline day. Will McIntyre, Ottawa postal officer in charge, said fewer people are mailing their returns, so lines tend to be smaller. If you want to mail your return, McIntyre said you have to get it to the Ottawa post office or outside boxes at 5. If you’re really late, you’ll have to drive to the main Shawnee Mission post office, at Johnson and Broadmoor, or the Kansas City IRS office at 315 Pershing Road by midnight.
