OTTAWA — Meet John Brown at the annual Conclave of the Esoteric and Terrible Order of Pie Eaters on April 24 at 7 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Kelly Altenbernd of Lawrence re-enacts John Brown. He has appeared as Brown on Kansas City Public Television’s “Meet the Past” with Crosby Kemper III and on KOFO’s recent series about John Brown on Community Perspective. The conclave is the traditional Franklin County Historical Society event always features a pie buffet. Coffee and tea are served. Tickets are $10 and are only available in advance at the Old Depot Museum and at the Franklin County Historical Society’s Records & Research Center.
