TOPEKA–The March Labor Report contained a mix of good and bad news. The state unemployment rate went up slightly from 6.8% in February to 6.9% in March. The area jobless rates boils down like this: Franklin County went from 9.5% in February to 9.7% in March. Anderson County went from 8.5% to 8%; Miami County improved from 8.5% in February to 8.3% in March; Osage County had 8.9%, down from 9.1%; Linn County improved from 12.6% unemployment in February to 11.4% in March.
