OTTAWA — Franklin County commissioners approved an agreement Monday with Ransom Memorial Hospital that would allow hospital lab director Linda Reed to supervise lab tests for sexually-transmitted diseases done by two Franklin County Health Department nurses. By doing the tests in-house, the health department will be able to report the test results within a week rather than wait while they’re processed, said health director Midge Ransom. Although the nurses are certified to do the test and treat patients, under regulations they must be supervised by a lab director, Ransom said.
