TOPEKA — Court costs in Kansas have increased by $17.50 to $93.50 today. The Kansas Supreme Court ordered the increase as one way to cover cuts in funding to the court system as a part of the state’s attempt to cover a budget gap. That means if you receive a traffic ticket in Kansas, you pay the fine, plus the $93.50 in court fees. Johnson and Sedgwick counties could increase more to pay for their law libraries. If it’s any consolation, starting today you can now pay your fine on-line in most counties. Go to the Web site www.citepayusa.com.
