GLOBE — Ten members of General Edward Hand chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently inspected the results of its restoration of a Santa Fe Trail historical marker near Globe a mile north of U.S. 56 and several miles west of Baldwin Junction. Putting markers along the Santa Fe Trail in Kansas came up during a state DAR conference in Ottawa in 1902, said Barbara Dew, of the Hand chapter. Ninety-six markers were put up along the trail within five years.
