OTTAWA — Ottawa High School students Anna Stone and Lindsay Frank won the Kansas History Week competition in Topeka this weekend. They’ll compete in the national history competition in College Park, Md., in June. Stone and Frank did a project on muckraker Upton Sinclair. It’s the second straight year they’ve won the state high school history contest. Last year at the national competition, they received scholarships from the History Channel for their project on Serbian terrorist Gavrilo Princip and the start of World War I. Their project on Princip were featured on KOFO’s public affairs program Community Perspective last year.
