OTTAWA — You’re sitting along the Animal Health Corridor. At Wednesday’s Franklin County summit, Lynn Parman, of the Kansas City Area Development Council, explained that an area that roughly follows I-70 between Manhattan and Columbia, Mo., has the highest concentration of animal health companies in the world. The concentration offers unique possibilities for Ottawa and other cities in the corridor, she said. The county summit looked at agro-defense and biohealth issues and attracted a wide variety of government officials from the area. Topics including recruiting biofirms, the new agro-defense facility at Manhattan and combating animal disease.
