OTTAWA — Ottawa city commissioners endorsed a grant application for $100,000 for emergency shelter housing for the homeless. USD 290 homeless education director Peg McFadden met with commissioners Monday about the grant. City manager Richard Nienstedt said the grant will especially help homeless children stay in school.
