OTTAWA — Ottawa’s school year will be shorter next year. Superintendent Dean Katt says the shorter year is a cost-cutting measure because of cutbacks in state school funding. The school year will be trimmed to 177 days, although those won’t all be days that students will be in school, he said. The final calendar is to be determined, he said.
