JUNCTION CITY — A Danish maker of wind turbine parts will open a new manufacturing plant in Junction City. Jupiter Group said it will spend $2.4 million for the plant and create 120 jobs. The company says the plant will be operational Aug. 1. The plant will build parts for various wind energy clients throughout the Midwest. “This is another great day for Kansas’ wind energy industry,” said Gov. Mark Parkinson, calling it a great day for Kansas’ wind energy industry. He said Jupiter Group’s decision to build in Kansas is a tribute to the state’s business climate and the state’s geographical advantage in the North American wind corridor. It’s third such announcement in a year.
