OTTAWA — The Republican primary race for County Commissioner Sue Farrell’s 1st District seat is becoming more crowded. Farrell filed for re-election this morning, but she’s now the third person to announce for the seat. She said the state’s budget crisis, which will adversely affect the county’s finances, and trying to repair the storm-ravaged county road network will remain priorities for the next few years. Ron DePriest of Ottawa filed by petition for the 1st District seat. Earlier, former Main Street director Katy Boothe said she will file for the seat.
