NASHVILLE — The celebrity-gossip news service TMZ reported country star Chely Wright will announce this week she’s gay. TMZ says the 39-year-old singer from Wellsville will come out of the closet in this week’s People’s Magazine. She also has a book called “Like Me” and a CD called “Lifted Off the Ground” coming out Tuesday. Wright would be only one of a few country artists who has announced their gay. Wright scored a #1 country song 10 years ago with “Single White Female,” when she was named the Academy of Country Music Association’s New Artist of the Year.
