OTTAWA — Rebuilding the Ottawa airport could take off if the city commission gives the high sign tonight. The $1.09 million project would rebuild the terminal and main hangar which were severely damaged by last summer’s wind storm. The city is still battling the insurance company for reimbursement for the storm damage. But the city commission could issue more than $820,000 in bonds tonight to pay for rebuilding the airport. The bonds will be combined with the insurance settlement. The city is still disputing a payment from the insurance company but city manager Richard Nienstedt said the city is running out of options in dealing with the insurance company. The city is expected to ratify their selection of Loyd Builders as the construction manager for the project.
