OTTAWA — Seventy-nine graduates will take part in Saturday afternoon’s commencement, which is 2 p.m. at Ottawa University Chapel. Commencement is part of several activities this weekend at OU. Dr. Richard Warch, president emeritus of Lawrence University of Appleton, Wisc., will speak on ‘The Sovereign Individual.’ While he was president at Lawrence University, Warch improved the school’s academic reputation, launched several building projects and emphasized the school’s liberal arts tradition. The annual OU Reunion Celebration will begin Friday night. The alumni association will give the Distinguished Service Award to The Rev. Wayne and Beverly Fink. The Esther Ruth Award will be given to Dr. Henry and Linda Scherich. The Outstanding Achievement Award will be given to David Owen.
