RANTOUL — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to two fire reports Saturday. The department said a fire in the 3000 block of Ellis Road near Central Heights School was out when a deputy arrived Saturday morning. The deputy said the fire was started by a cigarette. The other occurred Saturday evening in the 4500 block of Hamilton road near Rantoul. Deputies said the fire started in the laundry and was caused by a dryer.
