TOPEKA — Eight members of the local General Edward Hand chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution attended the 112th annual state conference in Topeka recently. Emily Kirkpatrick was conference pianist and Kristi Dunn Hubbard and Cara Polsley were conference pages. Former Ottawan and former Franklin County Historical Society director John Mark Lambertson, director of the National Frontier Trails Museum in Idependence, Mo., was conference speaker. He talked about America’s great Western trails. The chapter was honored for its part in restoring markers along the Santa Fe Trail in Kansas.
