OTTAWA — Although building projects in the northeast part of the city have slowed because of the economy, the city will continue to improve the water and sewer network in the area. City manager Richard Nienstedt calls it a long-term investment in the city’s future and a good preparation for the growth that will occur in that area of the city. Work on a new water tower and the water lines connecting to it are continuing, he said. The city has planned the project so a water main could be pushed to the area east of K-68 and I-35.
