LAWRENCE — Kansas University Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little and athletics director Lew Perkins said this afternoon they’ll make immediate changes in the KU ticket office because of a long-running ticket scam. KU released the results of an independent investigation this afternoon that says thousands of men’s basketball and football tickets were diverted for personal profit. The independent auditors said that five former athletic staff members and a consultant sold or used sold or used nearly 18,000 men’s basketball game tickets, nearly 2,200 football game tickets and a number of parking passes and Arrowhead Club passes for their own gain. KU officials say they’ll take legal action to recover the money that was stolen. They will also adopt new safeguards recommended by the auditors. The report will be turned over to federal and state prosecutors.
