OTTAWA — The Ottawa school board approved a lease with the Ottawa Recreation Commission Monday night for the site of a new recreation center next to Eisenhower School in southwest Ottawa. School Supt. Dean Katt said the sub-lease for the site is another step in building the center. By state law, recreation commissions can’t own property except in rare circumstances so the school district would have to own the facility.
