OTTAWA — The Ottawa Planning commission will have a public hearing at 7 p.m. June 9 at city hall on proposed rules regarding pay-day loan offices in Ottawa. City planning director Wynndee Lee said she expects there will be comments from the public and from officials on both sides. Although, technically, pay-day loan regulations are outside of the planners’ purview, they’ll serving in an advisory capacity for the city commission, who will have the final say, Lee said. The proposed rules require new pay-day loans to get city licenses and the city would restrict where they could be located, and the size of their signs and storage.
