OTTAWA — Ottawa Main Street officials tell the county they want to keep two courthouse chain-saw statues on Main Street. The statues of Ottawa pioneer Tauy Jones and courthouse architect George Washburn were carved from two old trees and county officials want to cut them down and bring them inside because the wooden bases are rotten. County commissioners discussed what to do Wednesday. Commissioners said they’ll listen to suggestions for protecting the statues from Main Street officials.
