OTTAWA — The Ottawa Planning Commission will have a public hearing at 7 p.m. June 9 on big-ticket spending for the future. The city’s capital improvement plan has a list of priorities for spending over the next few years. Items proposed for next year include a new fire truck, buying more land around the Ottawa airport, storm water changes and an overhaul of the city’s STAG steam-powered electrical plant. Items could be bought as money is available, said city planning and codes director Wynndee Lee. The plan, plus any suggestions from the public, will go to the city commission.
