GARNETT — An Anderson County man met his brother last week for the first time after they were separated 71 years ago. The Anderson County Review reported that after their mother died, Kenneth Hyde was separated from his brother John Knauss when he was 7 and Knauss was 3. Three sisters were also separated and farmed out to different families. The youngest sister tracked down all of her siblings 30 years ago and reconnected. Since then, Hyde reunited with all of his sisters in person and talked to his brother on the telephone. However, he wasn’t able to meet his brother, who lives in Vermont, until last week on Hyde’s 80th birthday. He called it a wonderful birthday present.
