LAWRENCE – U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts will take part in a roundtable discussion about literacy programs at the University of Kansas Thursday morning at 10. During the roundtable, KU professor Don Deshler will talk about KU literacy programs used in area schools and KU’s efforts to improve teens’ reading skills across the nation. He recently testified about the effectiveness of reading programs for older teens before a Senate committee of which Roberts is a member.
