WAMEGO — The Freedom’s Frontier National Historical Area group will meet Thursday at the Wamego city hall. The group will discuss its publications and web site for the area. Freedom’s Frontier, an area of counties in eastern Kansas and western Kansas includes Franklin County and the group includes area history and tourism officials. The area has drawn attention for its Civil War history and being the terminus for several historic American trails. After lunch, the group will tour an underground railroad station at the William Mitchell Homestead south of Wamego. To make reservations for lunch, e-mail [email protected].
