OSAWATOMIE — The Osawatomie City Council say they will build it even if the money doesn’t come. The Osawatomie Journal reported that the council has guaranteed they will follow up on the Pacific-14th-Brown Street plan, which includes widening Pacific and Brown streets. The city had unsuccessfully sought a Community Development Block Grant to fund part of the work but could qualify for another Community Development grant. The council issued the guarantee because the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development will give the city a grant and low-interest loan for the project.
