OTTAWA — Book ‘em. That’s the word from the Ottawa Library today. The summer reading kick off party will be this afternoon from 1 to 3 in the library parking lot, weather permitting. Children’s librarian Shannon Leonard said everyone is invited for the come-and-go event, which includes water games, snow cones and a photo stand. However, she’s keeping her fingers crossed today that the kick-off party’s theme of “Make a Splash” doesn’t mean a splash from falling rain. The Scholastic Book Fair also begins today and goes through Friday. Leonard says that besides doing some summer reading, youngsters and teens can get a crack at prizes.
