OTTAWA — Two people who are suspects in a wild, high-speed chase through the streets of Ottawa this morning have been captured trying to hitchhike on 15th Street at the I-35 interchange.  Police Chief Dennis Butler said a man and woman are in the Franklin County Jail. According to preliminary reports, officers from Kansas City chased a car south down I-35 at high speed and into Ottawa.  According to preliminary information, during the chase, a woman threw a gun out of the car between Wellsville and LeLoup. The car turned onto K-68 and raced through streets in and around the city with officers in pursuit.  The chase reached speeds of 100 miles an hour along Main Street downtown at some point.   Apparently, the couple jumped out the car and fled on foot.  Ottawa police found the car believed to be involved in the chase in a field behind the Don Woodward Community Center.
