POMONA — County Clerk Shari Perry has scheduled a recall election for Pomona Mayor Joanne Hancock on the August primary ballot. Perry said a citizens group turned in enough signatures on recall petitions to hold the election. She said it took at least 80 valid signatures to request the recall and she said her office stopped counting when there were enough signatures. However, she says there were many more. Hancock has been in a long-running battle with the Pomona City Council over several issues and at one time sued the council. That lawsuit has been put on hold pending the outcome of the recall election.
