LAWRENCE — Kansas University chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little said a probe shows there is no evidence that athletic director Lew Perkins swapped favors and tickets for exercise equipment. The probe also says there’s no evidence of drug-test rigging nor ineligible student-athletes. In a story by the Topeka Capital-Journal, former KU sports medicine director William Dent charged Pperkins and the athletic department with several irregularities. KU investigators interviewed Dent as part of the probe. Investigators said that Dent refused to give them specific information about the allegations. Investigators said they also looked at contributions and seating records. KU said the Lawrence Police Department investigating a blackmail plot against Perkins and involving Dent.
