POMONA LAKE — The Michigan Valley swimming beach at Pomona Lake is flooded and has been closed. Recent storms have brought higher lake levels flooding and federal park manager Bradley Cox said boating access to the lake is limited. Boaters should check for boat launching conditions, he said. The series of spring storms have affected beaches and boat ramps at Pomona Lake, he said. At this time, the Carbolyn and the Pomona State Park boat ramps are open, he said. Pomona Lake safety ranger Bryan Phillips said boaters should watch the weather and head in if storms come. He said that the weather nearly caused a drowning last week.
