LAWRENCE — George Washington, as interpreted by Dean Malissa, will visit the Dole Institute of Politics at Kansas University July 14. Washington will discuss the founding of the United States and the importance of public service and bipartisanship while challenging a few myths associated with the nation’s first president. The president also will take questions from the public. The program, which begins at 7:30, is free and open to the public. Malissa is the only actor to portray Washington at Mount Vernon and has portrayed Washington at public events and in TV productions and films. Malissa is a former corporate executive spends 95 percent of his work being George Washington.
