OTTAWA — How will the state school funding cutbacks affect Ottawa and other schools? Tuesday night’s public session will offer answers. Ottawa Supt. Dean Katt said the Ottawa school district and the Kansas Association of School Boards will talk about the Kansas Constitution and public education, how education has changed, and the link between funding and learning in the seminar “Student achievement in tough economic times: how will the state’s tight budget affect your schools and your community.” The session is part of a series being held across the state. Katt said all state and federal candidates are welcome to attend. Because of the contentious nature of the last legislative session, Katt said he hopes business leaders will also attend. The session is 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ottawa High School.
