KANSAS CITY — A Johnson County horse farm operator has been convicted on federal bankruptcy fraud charges. U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch said James Moser, 66, Overland Park, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and then concealed information about his Hallmark Arabian Farms in Olathe. Hallmark Arabian Farms is a fully equipped Arabian horse training facility including barn, stables, saddles, tack and personal property. Welch said that Moser also hid $125,000 worth of gold and silver coins and collectable stamps.
Moser’s wife Doris faces a trial in August for bankruptcy fraud. His sentencing is Sept. 20.
