OTTAWA — Franklin County commissioners met Monday with outside agencies asking for county funds for next year. Like other agencies, the Ottawa-Franklin County Economic Development Corporation didn’t ask for an increase. That means they’ll ask for $45,000 for next year to conduct the county’s economic development efforts.
OFCED’s Tom Weigand told commissioners it’s a worthwhile investment and that his agency has a solid track record of attracting new industry and helping existing industries expand. Without economic development, there’s no economy and there’s little in tax revenues.
