OTTAWA – The Ottawa Youth in Government’s final rain barrel workshop will be 2 to 4 Saturday in the Ottawa High School Cyclone Room. There are 40 barrels remaining and there are still places available for them, said Zach George, Youth in Government student. Because the group received a Marais des Cygnes Targeted watershed grant, the workshop and rain barrels are free, he said. Because of the growing amount of paved surfaces, more runoff is getting into area streams at a faster pace, said Lisa Rivers, Youth in Government director. The deadline is Friday.
