BALDWIN–The Baldwin City Council has decided to crack down on unsafe buildings. The council unanimously passed resolutions setting up hearings regarding 4 properties that have been classified as dangerous. The hearings are to be held August 2 for the property owners to explain as to why they haven’t fixed or torn down the structures. Baldwin Mayor Ken Wagner says he knew the city had to get tough on enforcing building codes when he saw a story about a building collapse in Kansas City that killed a man.
