OTTAWA–It’s illegal to shoot off fireworks in Ottawa, but if you do it somewhere else, keep safety uppermost in mind. Dennis Nowatzke with the Ottawa Fire Department says adults should supervise children. He says fireworks can get up to 1800 degrees, causing serious burns or structure fires.
