WASHINGTON — Great Kitchens has recalled about 550 tons of Marketside brand barbeque chicken pizza. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Iinspection Service said the company discovered small pieces of plastic during production of the pizzas. The pizzas were made two weeks ago and sent to distribution centers and to retailers nationally. Recalled pizzas are the 28-and-a-half ounce, 16-inch thin-crust barbeque-chicken pizzas. The number P-2539B will be inside the U.S.D.A. inspection marks and were produced June 15 and 16. The USDA said that no injuries or complaints have been received; and most of the pizzas may have been stopped before they hit the shelves.
