WICHITA — Republican senatorial candidate Jerry Moran is touting the results of another poll. A new poll done for Wichita television station KWCH by SurveyUSA shows that Moran has a 20-point lead over his major opponent, Congressman Todd Tiarht. The poll was conducted over the weekend and shows Moran with a 53-percent rating among Republicans compared to 33 percent for Tiarht. They’ve been locked in a bitter battle for the GOP nomination. The poll also surveyed Democrats but doesn’t show as a commanding lead. Of the five Democrats seeking the nomination, Baker University staffer Lisa Johnston is on top with 24 percent of Democrats expressing preference for her. However, the poll indicates that more than one-third of Democrats are still undecided in the senate race.
