TOPEKA — The state has requested a preliminary damage assessment for several counties because of because severe storms, lightning, flooding and flash flooding earlier this month. The state emergency office and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will look at storm damages occurring to roads, bridges and utilities in several areas of the state including Miami and Osage counties.
