OTTAWA — Independence Day doesn’t mean independence from the city’s fireworks ordinance. Nicole Durrie, 27, got a ticket from Ottawa police for shooting fireworks inside the city in the 100 block of South Elm late Sunday night. Jason Potter, 32, also got a ticket for shooting fireworks in the 100 block of East 5th Street shortly before midnight Sunday night.
