WICHITA — You’re never too old to exercise. That’s the word from Wichita State University fitness and aging expert Ruth Bohlken. This spring she had seven fitness students who were older than 90. Bohlken said it’s important for you to maintain an active lifestyle as you get older. Seniors should start and continue exercise programs as a lifetime commitment and gear to “functional fitness” such as being able to go to the store, play with grandchildren or drive, she said. Bohlken said as you get older you may have to change what you do to stay active.
