TOPEKA — Topeka and Shawnee County emergency officials received several reports of flooding in and around Topeka as heavy rains dropped at the rate of 2 inches per hour Wednesday night. The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that police were checking several calls of vehicles being swept off streets and roads. Northeastern Osage County was briefly under a tornado warning Wednesday night because of a severe storm near Carbondale.
