GARNETT — The First United Methodist Church in Garnett has a new minister. Pastor Richard Fitzgerald is moving from Wellsville to Garnett to succeed Pastor Gary Merritt. Fitzgerald has been pastor at Wellsville United Methodist church for three years. Fitzgerald told the Anderson County Review that at his past communities, he has been an active member of the community and has served as a lifeguard and instructor for the Red Cross. He said he plans to continue being active in the Garnett community. Besides a new pastor, the Garnett Methodist church has new service times — Sunday school starts at 9:15 with worship service at 10:30 Sunday morning.
