OTTAWA — Ottawa Police Chief Dennis Butler has identified a missing Ottawa woman as 64-year-old Sharon Burgoon. Burgoon was reported as missing Monday morning at the same time as police received a report of a woman who disappeared into the Marais des Cygnes River at the Main Street bridge. However, Butler said he hasn’t received a positive identification from the medical examiner that Burgoon is the same woman recovered from the river Monday morning. However, he said that police are no longer conducting a search for Burgoon. Dengel and Son Mortuary’s Web site carries an obituary for Burgoon.
